As Captain of the LSLGC Ann was invited to the Childwall Golf Club annual dinner. The Childwall ladies captain and past captains wear their brooches on a ribbon at this occasion to mark their positions as ladies captain and past ladies captains.
Ann Garner had a lovely afternoon when she met the 2026 Lady Captains.
To celebrate the year, Ann has presented a beautiful engraved daisy glass vase trophy which will be played for each year by the 2026 Lady Captains. A journal is also provided to capture the adventures of the group.
The Annual Bridge Competition was held at S&A on 16th March. It was great to see so many ladies participating and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially the beautiful afternoon tea.
Thanks go to Sally for organising, Lynne for hosting and Gwyn for helping the day run smoothly.
The winners were Jenny Davies & Janet Perkins from Hillside with a score of 2370.
Hopefully, this event will go from strength to strength with even more participants next year.

On Friday 10th April myself and the Lady Captain of Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club Karen Spencer hosted the LSLGC Afternoon Tea.
These events are normally catered for by the club chef but things are done differently at Ashton and the ladies planned, prepared and delivered the afternoon themselves, catering for 133 Past Captains and Reigning Captains.
It was an amazing team effort from the whole club and the Society committee. The day was a huge success with the ladies who helped receiving a standing ovation.
It was a very proud moment and made all the hard work worthwhile.
This year's Spring Meeting was held at Lee Park on 11th May. I had a brilliant day with my partner Trish and playing partners Lady Captain Doreen and Thelma.
The course, the catering and the welcome from the volunteers was absolutely amazing and the whole day was a credit to Lee Park Golf Club.
Congratulations to the Winners Karen Hadden and Julie Beggs who won first prize with a score of 35 and the team Winners DeanWood.
Credit as always must go to our fabulous committee, who worked so hard to prepare the event, man the registration desk and collate the results.
Everyone enjoyed the day and even the weather behaved itself.
