Since the founding of our Society in 1959 by a small group of foresighted ladies, it
has gone from strength to strength. The Society has grown to include 22 Clubs and
nearly 500 members.

I joined the Society in 2022 when I became Lady Captain of Ashton-in-Makerfield
Golf Club and even though I am a relatively new member, I have already made many
lasting friendships and met so many lovely ladies, whilst attending the various events
that the Society arranges during the year.

It is an honour to be asked to become Captain of Captains for 2026 and a privilege
to be entrusted with the role.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can during my year of office, whether
playing on some of our beautiful courses or socialising at some of our non-golfing
events.

We cannot run these events without the time and dedication given by our Committee
Members, to whom I am very grateful for their hard work, advice and guidance.
Let us hope we can enjoy some good weather, as well as good golf during 2026.
